Picking the battery for the system
Low-voltage or high-voltage
Low-voltage batteries (48 V / 51.2 V nominal) pair with low-voltage hybrid inverters and grow by adding modules in parallel. High-voltage stacks put modules in series for larger and three-phase systems, and need a high-voltage inverter.
Sizing the capacity
Size the battery to the evening and night consumption it has to cover, not to the size of the PV array. Each product page lists the nominal capacity, the cycle rating and how the modules combine.
Wall, rack or floor
Wall-mounted units keep the floor clear in garages and utility rooms; rack modules sit in a 19-inch cabinet and grow one module at a time; floor-standing units hold more capacity in a single enclosure.
